The idea for the creation of UMEM occurred in 1993 at the Naval Base of Rio de Janeiro, when a group of soldiers decided to form an organization. This organization decided to get together and have a fellowship for praise, Bible study, prayer, testimonies, and preaching the Word of God a the lunch break in at the Navy.
